How tall are you in reality?
So, How tall are you in reality?
To answer the tallness question we need to look back a little and wonder where the idea came from. What was needed for everyone to have a common length. Regardless who was talking about 1 foot length for example. 1 foot had to be the same length for everyone. Now i got the ruler out and found out that I was exactly 5 feet tall. The question now becomes how tall is 5 feet?
Comparing all dimensions against each other.
What we are doing is comparing one length against another length. No more and no less. This gives us a reference among our self, nothing more, nothing less. It has no meaning of the actual length. So, what is the actual length of everything? That is the question. Nobody knows the answer to that question.
This is just an idea what the actual size is.
Two people standing together with a ruler and find out that one person is taller than the other person. The are talking about there highs back and forth. See, I am 5 feet tall and you are 6 feet tall. Somebody comes by and takes a picture of them and shows them a 10”x14” print.
Put your thinking cap on for a moment.
Now we need to make a thinking jump inside the picture and assume those people could still be talking. They are still talking about the difference in heights between them. This goes on and on and nobody notice a big size change.
Nobody noticed the sudden change in height inside the picture.
His friend still can prove that he is 5 feet tall. The ruler tells him how tall he is and the ruler is 100% correct. But if you look from the outside, we can only laugh at it and see that the size of the picture frame is only a 10”x14”. So how in the world can the person in the picture still believe that he is over 5 feet tall. The ruler tells him that and the ruler is 100% correct again.
Now let us go back to reality and see how tall we are.
How is that possible? How can it be that both are correct, inside the picture frame they are 5 feet tall and out side in real live they are also 5 feet tall. Both can prove with the ruler that they are correct. But can both be correct at the same time, that is the question. That leaves us with an idea about our real dimensions. How tall are we in our reality? We have no idea. Everything is relative to everything else.
Wondering about the universe.
Is it smaller than we think? Maybe it is as small as a grain of sand on a beach. We will never know. If that is the case that our universe is as big as a sand of grain on the beach, our perception of size is totally incorrect. Even though that our relative size never changed.
Conclusion.
It does not matter the actual size at all. Everything is relative to everything else. So nothing is changing regardless what we think of the real size of all things.
Hope and dreams.
It still would be interesting to find out what is behind of everything. Maybe some day we will get that knowledge to find out were we stand in the universe. To me it looks like that we are in a very very small place and have no idea where up, down, right and left is. It has no meaning at all.
Norby’s Recommendation
Size does not matter at all. Or maybe it is the most important thing in life. Either way it makes no difference. We still need to accept the way we are regardless of size.
